This morning, Ms. Vallance visited the Junior School to share her love of science with students during Friday Morning Live. After showing how strong paper can be, Ms. Vallance demonstrated some chemical reactions by making Elephant Toothpaste using hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, and an activator, mini bottle rockets using alka seltzer and water, and (safe) fireballs out of rocket fuel! “I want the students to be exposed to the magic and wonder of science,” Ms. Vallance said. “They have so much to look forward to as they move through the IB program, from explorations in JK through to independent scientific research in the Diploma program.” The experiments were a huge hit with the kids and a great way to wrap up the week. A big thanks to Ms. Vallance for the show! For more fun science, check out the upcoming GNS STEM Exhibition on December 6.
